Marketing 2024

Story Posted: Spring 2024
Originally from Spain, I spent my high school years in Oregon and Utah. Now in my third year in Pennsylvania, I am thrilled to share my Griffin Success Story, a tale of choosing GMercyU and pursuing my passion for marketing.
My desire to continue studying abroad fueled my decision to join Gwynedd Mercy University. While living in Utah, I contemplated my post-high school plans. Returning to Spain was an option, but I aimed to complete my education in the United States.
Journey to GMercyU
I learned about GMercyU through my stepmother, who had a family member working in admissions. This connection sparked my curiosity and after researching the school online, I believed it would be an excellent fit. The size, location, and strong business program were key factors that led me to apply, and here I am today.GMercyU's affordability, compared to other universities, caught my attention, along with the size of the school. I love the intimate class settings, allowing me to build relationships with professors—an essential aspect of my academic experience.
My first visit was the start of a new chapter, and despite having only seen pictures of the school, I felt welcome and appreciated the university's flexibility compared to high school.
I ultimately chose to study at GMercyU because it felt like the perfect fit for my academic and personal goals.
Experience as a Marketing Major
My father's work in the marketing industry inspired my choice of major. The attraction of constant travel and product development resonated with me, shaping my path in marketing.
Marketing has always been my calling, a decision rooted in a long-standing passion for the field.
The small class sizes at GMercyU allowed me to connect with professors personally. These relationships have made every class memorable, contributing to my academic growth.
Currently, I am immersed in an internship within the University's marketing department—a hands-on experience aligned with my passion for marketing.
I am also a resident student. From Loyola Hall to Alexandria Hall and now in Sienna Hall, living on campus has been convenient. It keeps me in a school mindset and provides a sense of belonging and familiarity.
Post-Graduation Plans
Post-graduation, my goal is to secure an internship at Disney, leveraging the skills and insights gained at GMercyU to contribute to the dynamic marketing world. This aspiration goes beyond being a consumer of their movies; I see Disney as a mega company offering unparalleled opportunities to learn marketing.
I look forward to enhancing my knowledge in marketing and creating lasting memories with friends during the remainder of my time at GMercyU.
