We’re not here for ourselves. We’re here for a purpose, and that is to reach out to others.
My GMercyU Experience
I got a later start in college. I already raised my family and was working at Merck and Co. when I decided to take some classes at a community college. It went so well I transferred to GMercyU’s bachelor’s in business program. The flexible class schedule fit into my lifestyle, but being the oldest student in the room was daunting at first. I think the other students saw the wisdom in my years, and that really boosted my morale.
While earning my degree, I was coping with the end of my marriage. I sought counseling for codependency, and after graduating with my bachelor’s degree in business administration, I took some classes to work as an addiction counselor to help others going through something similar.
I published a 40-day devotional titled “My Resurrected Heart: A Co-Dependent’s Journey to Healing,” book one of a planned trilogy, which won the 2015 Christian Small Publisher Book of the Year award. I hope to show people they’re not alone in life.
