After graduating from North Penn High School in 2019, Alexander Irvin attended Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) where he learned about GMercyU through MCCC’s transfer program. "The closeness to home and the community were the selling points," he said of GMercyU.
“Many of my professors in both the education and other departments have stuck out to me here at GMercyU. Dr. Malfi who runs the TAP program, Dr. Schadler in the Special Education classes, Dr. Lent who teaches Bioethics, Professor Kersul-Wiener who teaches Reading Sequence classes, and Professor Pierantozzi who taught the Teaching Social Studies class,” Alexander said.
So far, Alexander has completed student-teaching at Twin Spring Farm School and Woodland Elementary School in the Methacton School District.
The biggest takeaway has been to always be open to something new when you are teaching because you are always learning even after school ends. You are always learning from all kinds of experiences.
Alexander is also a member of the Education Outreach Club on campus.
Post-Graduation
After graduating from GMercyU in spring 2025, Alexander hopes to obtain a position within the Methacton School District.
